Shoot Bubble Deluxe 4.8

The bubble shooting game mechanic is well known since the original Puzzle Bobble came out in the western world (around 1995). From it, many games have taken inspiration and even more games are downright clones of it. This here free game is one of the latter.

Shoot Bubble Deluxe is rather simple. There's grape-like formation of colored bubbles that will slowly descend to your doom. You will need to 'pop' all of them using a bubble cannon. Once you connect three or more bubbles of the same color, they pop along with any other bubbles that were hanging from them. There's quite a bit of tactics to this. You get to see the current color of your projectile and the color of the next one.

There are two game modes. The Puzzle mode is a slow paced game while Arcade is quite the race. You can choose to slow it down a notch from the Settings menu, where from you can also turn on colorblind mode, which will assign zodiacal signs for each color. Quite handy.

Although the gameplay is great, Shoot Bubble Deluxe suffers a bit in the graphics department. The interface seems to have been rushed or simply not deemed important enough to perfect. I tend to agree and remove a star from the final rating of this fun clone.
